Missing All Teeth

Missing All Teeth

When all teeth are missing or in such condition that they need to be replaced, a fixed bridge anchored to dental implants is the ideal permanent solution. However, there are other alternative options which can be offered to secure a denture. These options will be discussed at consultation.

Can I replace all of my lost teeth?

Before dental implants, there was no fixed solution available for people who lost all their teeth. Today, it is possible to replace a full jaw with dental implants and a fixed bridge that results in a permanent, stable and high aesthetic solution.

  • Lets you eat and function like having natural teeth.
  • A solid and stable solution.
  • Preserves your facial appearance and prevents bone loss.

Treatment Procedure

The course of treatment described here is one of several options available. Your dentist will advise as to what the best solution is for you, given your specific condition.

Step 1 – Before procedure:

Having obtained the necessary information to establish the treatment options available, the dentist can create individual treatment plans.

The patient will then have the opportunity to discuss the treatment options with the Implant Treatment Co-Ordinator, to help make an informed decision.

Step 2 – Placing the implants:

The first step is placing dental implants to replace the lost tooth roots. In this case, 4 to 5 implants are used. Temporary teeth are attached to the implants on the day of implant placement that enable you to eat and function as normal while waiting for the permanent bridge to be fitted.

Step 3 – Attaching the final bridge:

The final bridge is securely fitted on top of the implants. In a full jaw replacement, it normally takes 3-4 visits to complete final restoration. Temporary restoration is worn between visits.

Step 4 – End result:

Your new teeth should be hard to tell from natural – both for you and for others. People who have had traditional dentures before getting a fixed bridge often describe this as an overwhelming and very positive experience.
